Bringing a unique healthcare model to Zimbabwe
This is a very unique model of healthcare in Zimbabwe. It is one of its own kind hence the rapid growth. This project idea came up after the owner had an experience of a relative who had gone through some healthcare challenges but these had not been noticed by anyone. The owner has an elderly relative whom he was responsible for taking care of but the elder was normally fit and well. One day a phone call was received that the elder was not well and it became very urgent and was rushed to the Doctors who at arrival said the condition had been left for too long without being checked. So, the owner suggested that some healthcare professionals visit the elder every month to do the vital observations and report back to him making sure that the elder is always fit and health and if needed referrals would be carried out in good time to curb the health challenges that the elder may have. This idea was shared among many elderly people in different communities and also with their relatives who would normally be looking after their welfare. The idea received a lot of recommendation and praise with many of these communities wishing if they had the same set up for themselves.
Although this idea came mainly for the elderly population, it has since been seen that it is also necessary to include every family member in the project idea, hence this project will cover all ages. Some families will have a monthly health check-up for the entire family and will be glad to know their health status.
We have Registered Nurses who visits people in their own homes providing vital health check-ups including blood pressure, temperature, blood sugar level monitoring, height and weight checks, blood oxygen saturation monitoring, dietary advice and checks. They will complete a medical record report which will be confidentially and safely kept in our offices.
This service is already transforming the provision of healthcare in Zimbabwe by making it affordable for most people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to visit a healthcare practitioner or facility.
